4 day diet

just a quick note. I am starting Ian Smiths 4 day diet. Day one down…it went ok, but I am feeling a little hungry so I am heading to bed.

yes we do really only make minimum wage

I am just writing this to vent and hopefully get a point across….so read it and pass it along. Maybe I can make a pamphlet to put in seat-back pockets on airplanes).

I am a table game dealer in Las Vegas. We make minimum wage and survive ( like cocktail, food and other waitresses) on tips. So our positive attitudes are not just there because we think u are awesome!!!! It is because we have cell phone bills, car payments and mortgages.

Please please please understand that if you are winning it is most likely because we are helping you in some way or another.

So wondering what is a decent/standard tip.
If you hit a big jackpot/progressive or big hand on craps or any of the carnival games (pai gow, let it ride, 3 card poker etc) a standard 10% of your win is a great tip. If you are playing blackjack and get a black jack understand the 1st Karma downer is sticking the $2.50 u just got from getting a blackjack on top of your next bet is SERIOUSLY the WORST thing u can do. Ok, say you bet $5 and get a black jack it pays $7.50 please stack the 2 red chips ($10 bet ) and at least use $1 for us and maybe $1 for the cocktail waitress…..here is a big one $25 pays $37.50 we LOVE the people who are winning and stick the $12.50 out for us and really still like the people who put the $2.50 out for us….Side note, by betting all different color chips on your bet might look cute but it pisses us of because almost always u get a black jack the next hand and we have to figure out what the stupid pay out is!!!!!!

Betting $1 every hand REALLY adds up…and we love it.

Understand that when a dealer gets tapped out ( by another dealer) and they say “thank you” , BUT taps their hand in front of one person in particular that usually means that person “took care of us” the whole time.

If we call you George out loud that means you are our favorite person in the casino right now!!!

If you see us whisper….probably now a good sign, maybe put a $1 out for the new dealers 1st bet

Karma is a bitch and so are most of us when our paychecks might not pay the rent!!!!

I understand that people from the Mid West are known for “stiffing” the dealers and so does Tiger Woods. But if any of this helps please let me know.

I also get that some people really don’t understand tipping or even know that it is proper to tip (this is where my pamphlet would come in handy).

Well although it is a courtesy and if the dealer is NOT NICE I would never expect you to support them just please remember that we have bills to pay and the kid at Mc Donalds pay is slightly higher than ours.

Write a comment card about the dealers who are rude or don’t talk, but remember I could not be on here writing this note if I only got minimum wage on my paycheck!!!! ( I mean i guess I could use the computer at the library).
